Clapham Common

Popular with dog-walkers and the young, Clapham Common is 220 acres of green space that stretches between Battersea, Clapham and Balham and is overlooked by large Georgian and Victorian mansions. It has three ponds, a fantastic skate-park, kids' paddling pool, two playgrounds, an outdoor gym, cafe and a Victorian bandstand. It regularly hosts live music events and is home to the famous SW4 festival held every August and Winterville each Christmas.

Battersea Park

Battersea Park, a firm favourite with families, is a huge expanse of green running alongside the Thames between Albert Bridge and Battersea Bridge. It boasts its own Putt-in-the-Park and Go-Ape, alongside a boating lake, tennis courts, athletics track, bowling green, two fabulous playgrounds, a café, two restaurants and a wonderful children's zoo! It regularly plays host to art fairs, dog shows and other events, not least Battersea Park's unrivalled fireworks display held every year in November.

Wandsworth Common

Wandsworth Common is another family favourite, running parallel to Northcote Road between 'Nappy Valley' and Trinity Road. It has excellent facilities, including a popular café hosting various kids' clubs, two playgrounds, tennis courts, a bowling green, playing field, outdoor gym and a huge pond with an array of wildlife. With all the pretty little shops, pubs and restaurants of Bellevue Road on the southern end of the common, this is a wonderful place to spend the day.

Brockwell Park

Brockwell Park is a 125 acre park located south of Brixton which commands stunning views of the city and Central London skyline. It boasts a range of mature trees including ancient oaks, as well as huge lawned areas and a series of beautiful lakes. Further points of interest include a clocktower, water garden, walled garden and the wonderful Brockwell Lido, a Grade II listed art deco building near the top of the park with a vast, open-air swimming pool and popular cafe attached.
