Keeping positive during difficult times

While the majority of people are confined to their home during the COVID 19 outbreak and people become restless and agitated, it is good to think of positive thoughts to keep you sane during this once in a generation event.

  • Find a hobby to keep your mind busy, sitting in front of the T.V all day sounds great, but it will soon become boring, maybe now is the time to take up a new musical instrument.
  • Make sure you go out for some exercise once a day, not only is it good for you, but seeing other people if even from a distance, will give you more of a feeling of normality.
  • Think of all the people who still must go to work to keep the country running during this unusual time, not only the superb NHS, but the supermarket workers risking their health to keep the country fed.
  • Remember to think of others, check in on your elderly neighbours who might not be able to go out to do their shopping.
  • Be kind and patient with your family you live with, this is likely to be the most time you have spent together, other than possibly a previous holiday.
  • Remember this will pass in time and normal life will return, think of this as precious time you are spending with your family.
